Lapsed and Dormant warning lights for long absences
Two new warning lights separate people who have been away for months from those with a recent dip, so your team can follow up in the right way.
Someone who missed two Sundays and someone who hasn’t been seen since spring need very different conversations. Warning lights now tell those situations apart, so a long absence isn’t treated like a busy month.
Two lights for long-term absence
Alongside Healthy, Needs Attention and Urgent, Parable now uses two longer-horizon warning lights:
- Lapsed: no activity for 90 days or more.
- Dormant: no activity for 180 days or more.
These thresholds are fixed. When someone reaches one of them, the Lapsed or Dormant light takes the place of the activity-based Urgent light. Urgent stays focused on a recent drop. To keep the two separate, the Urgent activity threshold in engagement settings now stays below the 90-day mark.
Where you’ll see them
- Open People. The warning-light column shows Lapsed and Dormant, and sorting by warning light orders people from Needs Attention to Urgent, Lapsed and Dormant.
- Open someone’s profile to see their light.
- On Overview, the Engagement Alerts widget counts each light. Select View alerts to see everyone grouped by how long they’ve been away.
If you write engagement data back to Planning Center, Lapsed and Dormant are written to the Parable custom-field tab too.
The Growing Engagement widget has a Trailing window setting of 7, 14 or 30 days, and its drill-in view and Ask Parable use the same window.
The Engagement Alerts widget shows separate counts for red alerts, yellow alerts, Lapsed and Dormant.
