Which plan fits your church
Tiers are set by profile count, so start by looking at your Planning Center roster rather than your weekend attendance — the two are rarely close.
- StarterOne campus, up to 2,500 profiles
- The right starting point for most single-site churches. If your Planning Center account holds fewer than a couple of thousand people including the ones who have drifted, this is the plan — and if it holds a few hundred, read the honest note below before you buy anything.
- GrowthMulti-campus, up to 10,000 profiles
- The first plan with multi-campus support, which is the usual reason to move up rather than the profile cap. There is no per-campus charge on it, so a four-site church pays the same as a two-site one at the same roster size.
- ScaleUp to 25,000 profiles, or anyone with a data person
- Adds direct database access, so someone on staff can point SQL, Google Sheets, Excel, Power BI or Tableau straight at the underlying data. Churches buy this tier for that as often as for the profile ceiling.
- EnterpriseAbove 25,000 profiles
- Unlimited profiles and unlimited AI questions, with white-glove onboarding and dedicated support. Priced per church, because at this size the shape of the account varies more than the headcount does.
When not to buy this yet
Under about two hundred people, Parable is usually the wrong purchase. Planning Center Home is included with your subscription and its dashboards will answer most of what you need at that size, and you can hold the rest of the church in your head. Parable's value scales with the number of people you cannot personally keep track of. If you are a church plant, Planning Center gives planters a year free — take that first, spend it filling your account with good data, and we will be more useful to you in a year than we would be today.
What happens before you pay anything
You can see Parable running against your own church's data before a card is involved.
Sign up without a card
No payment details, no sales call, no demo booked before you are allowed to look at anything.
Authorise Planning Center
One of your Planning Center Organization Administrators, with Giving Administrator access, approves the connection. It takes about ten minutes, and it is revocable from your Planning Center account at any time without going through us.
The first sync runs
In the background, and it brings your history with it rather than starting from today — a few hours for a large church. Parable reads across every Planning Center product and writes nothing back unless you opt in to custom fields and notes on people.
Ask it something only your own records could answer
This is the part worth doing before you decide. A demo on someone else's data proves nothing about whether your data is in good enough shape to answer the questions you care about — and if it is not, we would rather you found out now.
How billing works
- What counts as a profile?
- Every person record in your Planning Center account, counted once — not per product. Someone who appears in People, gives through Giving and serves on a Services team is one profile, not three. Archived and inactive profiles count too: the people who have drifted are exactly who a care ministry needs to find, so your whole roster syncs, not just your Sunday count.
- What happens if we outgrow our tier?
- Nothing stops working and no data is withheld. The caps are soft and generous on purpose: crossing your tier gives you time to move up rather than a wall, and we tell you before the plan changes, not after. A church growing past 2,500 profiles is doing the thing Parable exists to help with — that is worth celebrating, not being locked out of the reports showing it.
- Do you charge per user or per campus?
- Neither. Every plan includes unlimited staff accounts, because a reporting tool only pays for itself when the people who need the answer can get it themselves. Multi-campus support is a feature of Growth and above, not a per-campus charge.
- Is there a free trial, and do you need a card?
- You can sign up, connect Planning Center and explore your own data before paying, with no card required. The initial sync runs in the background and can take a few hours depending on the size of your church.
- Can we pay monthly instead of yearly?
- Yes. The prices above default to the yearly rate; the toggle shows the monthly rate, which is higher per month with no commitment. Yearly billing is one invoice, which is usually the easier line item for a church budget.
- How much does paying yearly actually save?
- On Starter it is $240 over twelve months — $948 a year against $1,188 paid monthly, about 20% off. Growth saves $600 a year (25%) and Scale saves $600 (13%). Monthly billing exists because some churches genuinely cannot commit a year ahead, and we would rather have you on the monthly rate than not at all.
- Which plan should we start on?
- Count the people in your Planning Center account, not your Sunday attendance — archived and inactive profiles count too, and for most churches the roster is a good deal larger than the room. Up to 2,500 profiles start on Starter. Move to Growth when you need multi-campus support, which is usually the real trigger rather than the profile ceiling. Take Scale when someone on staff wants the raw data. If you get it wrong, the caps are soft and we will tell you before anything changes.
- How many AI questions do we get?
- Fifty a month on Starter, two hundred on Growth, five hundred on Scale, and unlimited on Enterprise. The allowance resets each month. This is the one number on the page worth checking against how your team actually works before you choose a tier — dashboards, reports and the nightly sync are not metered, so the allowance only covers questions typed in plain English.
- Can we move between plans later?
- Yes, in either direction, and moving up is the expected path — a church growing past its tier is doing the thing Parable exists to help with. The caps are soft, so crossing one gives you time to decide rather than cutting anything off, and we tell you before your plan changes rather than after.
- What happens to our data if we cancel?
- Parable never alters or deletes the Planning Center data it reads — it reads your records rather than replacing them, and your Planning Center administrator can revoke the connection at any time without asking us. If you switched on the optional engagement fields or notes, those are written onto People profiles, and whatever Parable already wrote stays there for you to keep or remove in Planning Center; cancelling stops any further writing. The copy Parable syncs is kept for ninety days after you cancel, so you can reactivate without starting over, and is then permanently deleted, apart from anonymised data already folded into aggregate figures. If you would rather not wait, ask us to delete it outright and we will, within fourteen calendar days or ten business days, whichever is longer.
Retention, deletion and what we do and don't do with your data are set out in full in the privacy policy, which is the authoritative version of the answer above.
Still deciding? Compare Parable against what you use today — spreadsheets, Planning Center's own reports, and every third-party tool, including where each one wins. Or book a demo and we'll price it with you against your actual profile count.
