Ask Parable builds reports and dashboards for you

Ask Parable can now save reports, build dashboards and point you to the right page, and it shows its work while it answers. A new canvas covers group sign-ups.

The answer to a good question is often something you want to keep. Ask Parable can now turn an answer into a saved report or a dashboard, so your team spends less time on setup and more time with people.

From a question to a dashboard

The chat, now called Ask Parable, gained several abilities across three June releases:

  • It builds for you. Ask it to save a report, create a dashboard, or add a report to an existing dashboard. It checks each report’s query before saving.
  • It shows its work. A live line shows the step it is on and how long it has taken. When it finishes, the line collapses to Worked through with the number of steps, and you can expand it to see each one.
  • It points you to the right page. When another page would help, such as a report, a person or a setting, a card appears above the chat box with an Open page button. It never moves you on its own.
  • It covers group sign-ups. Ask about group sign-ups to open a Group Sign-Ups analysis with total sign-ups, first-time and returning members, a prior-period comparison and a breakdown by group.

Try it

  1. Open Overview and type in the chat box.
  2. Ask something like “Create a dashboard for our newcomer team with first-time guests and group sign-ups.”
  3. When it suggests a page, select Open page to go there.

Ask Parable can only create or change what you already have permission to create or change.
