See giving by your fiscal year

Churches with a fiscal year that doesn't start in January can pick Fiscal year to date and Last fiscal year in reports and dashboards, and giving reports start there.

If your church’s year runs July to June, a calendar year-to-date total answers the wrong question. Reports and dashboards can now follow your fiscal year.

Turn it on

Open Settings, then Organizations, and set Fiscal year starts to your first month. This setting used to be informational. Now it changes your date options.

Use it in reports and dashboards

Date pickers in Reports and Dashboards, and a dashboard’s Default Time Range, add Fiscal year to date and Last fiscal year. The calendar options now say Calendar year to date so the two are easy to tell apart. A fiscal choice moves forward on its own when a new fiscal year begins, so saved reports and links stay current. Switch to Custom and the dates start from that fiscal year.

Reports from the Giving Overview pack start on fiscal year to date, for example Total Donations (FYTD). Giving cards, report results and dashboard tiles show a caption naming the period and its dates.

Saved reports and existing dashboards keep the dates they had. Monthly Giving still shows the last 12 months. Churches whose fiscal year starts in January see no change. Giving figures still require giving access.
