Flow steps that match more than one condition

A step in a flow can now combine several conditions, such as a form submission or a group join, and complete when a person meets any or all of them.

People take different routes into church life. One newcomer fills out a connect card, another joins a group first. Flow steps can now reflect that, so the journeys you track look like the ones people actually take.

Any or all

A flow follows people through a series of steps, such as a newcomer pathway from first visit to joining a group. Until now, each step watched for a single condition. A step can now hold several:

  • Choose Any when meeting one condition is enough, for example a connect card or a newcomer registration.
  • Choose All when a person must meet every condition, for example joining a group and having a custom field set.

Conditions include a check-in, a form submission, a registration, a group membership, a profile being created, and a custom field being set or matching a value. Steps still complete in order.

Add conditions to a step

  1. Open Settings, then Metrics.
  2. Under Flows, select the flow you want to change.
  3. In Journey Steps, open a step or select Add Step.
  4. Select Add Condition for each condition you need.
  5. When a step has more than one condition, use Person did to choose Any or All.
  6. Select Save Changes.

A condition that targets specific sources, such as particular forms, needs at least one source selected before you can save it.
