Where Parable is the wrong choice
- Under about 200 people you probably don't need us. Planning Center's own dashboards will do.
- We don't count heads from a photo, and we don't pull YouTube or Instagram stats.
- If your Planning Center data is thin, Parable surfaces that fast. It reads what is there; it cannot invent history.
- We're a smaller company than the platforms we're listed beside. That's why you can book a call and get a founder rather than a support queue, but you should know it.

What is actually wrong with using a spreadsheet?
Nothing, until three things happen. It goes stale, because it is only as current as the last export. It cannot answer the follow-up, because the summary threw away the people behind the totals. And it has exactly one owner, so the week they leave or get busy, the reporting stops. Churches usually do not switch because the sheet is bad — they switch because it stopped being maintained.
Can we keep our spreadsheets and use Parable?
Yes, and plenty do. Parable exports anywhere, and on the Scale plan you can point Google Sheets, Excel, Power BI or Tableau straight at the underlying data — so the sheet your board likes keeps existing, it just stops needing a human to refill it.
We already have the historical data in our sheet. Do we lose it?
Nothing is lost, and nothing needs migrating. Parable reads your history directly out of Planning Center, so the first sync brings years of attendance and giving with it — usually more than the spreadsheet had, because it reads every record rather than the summary somebody typed.
Is this worth it for a small church?
